Spectravideo SV 318

The image is clickable

1983.

Spectravideo SV 318 was incorrectly called a MSX-machine and had some of MSX's characteristic, but was not compatible. MSX program could not be run on this computer. By contrast, it had a stronger BASIC than, for example, Commodore 64. It had three tone generators and four times the number of sprites (32) than C 64. The programming was simpler and more powerful because you could avoid using the commands POKE and PEEK for sound effects and graphics. As we know, it became much less popular. Might caused a part of this, on its scanty outer. Rubber keys made it look like an unwieldy calculator.
