1978.

Luxor is (in Sweden) a wellknown producerer of television and radios. In 1978 Luxor began a corporation with Scandia Metric AB and Dataindustrier AB, to produce the first Swedish series- computer. It came to be called ABC 80 and had - to be 1978 - impressive 16 KB RAM, expandable to 32 KB.

Luxor ABC 80 quickly became very popular. During the first two years, more than 10 000 copies were sold. A success given that before ABC 80, there were virtually no experience about computing at all. It was used not only as home- and hobby computer. There are many examples of that ABC 80 has been used late in the 80s and even in the early 90's to controll various industrial processes. It was also used in many schools on education.

It was possible to connect a number of them to a network. In fact, there were also many accessories and expansion possibilities.
