This model was launched as a "little brother" after the Amiga 1000, while the Amiga 2000 was a "big brother" after the Amiga 1000. Amiga 500 was integrated with the keyboard, unlike the Amiga 1000, which had separate main unit. Amiga 500 could be connected to a TV screen or monitor.
