1982.

Here we have a computer from Australia, that actually found its way to Sweden. Microbee was quite popular in schools, both in Australia and here in Sweden.
Actually Microbee began its history in the late 70 century, with Applied Technologies manufacturing kit. Eventually, the computer ended up on the cover of a computer magazin. A manual was included in the magazin. The year was 1982 and it was an instant hit. The kit came in a plastic bag and it was just to go ahead and assemble.
The relatively low price helped to make it popular and it sold in several hundred thousand copies. For those who added a little extra money, it was possible to get a fully assembled computer.
