Apple IIe

The image is clickable

1983.

Apple IIe was the successor to Apple ][plus. For us in Europe rather the successor to Apple II europlus. This model was so successful that it was sold until 1993 and there are examples of use of the machine in the 2000s. During that amount of time, the machine was modified several times. Enhanced Apple IIe came 1985 (the e in the name stands for enhanced, so it was a further expanded version) with higher RAM and ROM and support for 80 columns of text and graphic symbols. For those who had the first edition, there was an opportunity for users themselves to implement the upgrade by installing 4 chips. 1987 came the next "extension". Apple IIe had a new keyboard and a number of interior upgrades of hardware. It was called the Apple IIe Platinum.
Please note that the two disk drives - it had no hard drive, so it ran all through the two disk drives - was placed on top of the unit and below the screen. There was also a dual disk drive instead of two singles. Also note that the monitor itself does not wiggle into the right position for comfort. You only tilt the screen. Look at the photos to understand.
